Obituary for Juanita Peeler Mrs.
Mrs. Juanita Worthy Peeler, 77, of 203 Walnut Hill Farm Rd., Gaffney, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Gaffney on September 8, 1931 the daughter of the late Alonzo “Lonnie” Worthy and Amanda Eliza (Gibson) Worthy. Juanita was the youngest of 4 children, two brothers, the late William “Bill” Worthy of Shelby NC., the late Wilburn “Mann” Worthy of Gaffney SC., and a sister, the late Margie Worthy Bright of Gaffney SC., who passed away January 27th of this year. In her earlier years Mrs. Peeler was a seamstress with a textile company in Gaffney South Carolina and later became a cosmetologist owning her own business in Longwood Florida where she raised her children. Juanita returned to Gaffney to retire in 1994. She volunteered her time at the LDS Family History Center focusing on genealogy helping families locate ancestors and other family history. She very much enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Mrs. Peeler was the widow of the late Daniel Peeler, who she married on February 7, 1951 and is survived by her son, Lonnie Daniel Peeler, of Winter Park, FL and her two daughters; Pamela Jean Wiese of Bluffdale, Utah and Deborah Kay Geilmann of Wilsonville, Oregon, and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm –2:30 pm prior to the graveside service at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
